Our classes encourage community based learning and provide support in a friendly and welcoming environment, and by participating in our courses you can learn new things and have fun while building social connections and networks.

Adult Education Courses
Learn Local courses can help you get the skills you need for study, work and life. Vermont South Neighbourhood House is a proud provider of Learn Local courses that can help you return to study, improve your digital, reading, writing & maths skills, get a job, change careers or learn something new.
The Adult Community & Further Education Board (ACFE) provide funding support so that we may offer affordable educational courses to adult learners. In our capacity as a Learn Local Organisation we offer subsidised Adult Education such as Computer and Digital Literacy, English as an Additional Language, Literacy and Numeracy, and Vocational courses.
Eligibility criteria: Applies to all people who enrol in these funded courses and applicants who are Australian Residents seeking training.
Ineligible applicants are welcome to join our ACFE courses but will be charged at full fee prices - manuals & materials extra.
Art as Therapy - Creative Community Connections
Whether it be for a new job, a career change, further study or simply volunteering, using the therapeutic and fun process of creating art, this course can assist you to increase your confidence and reveal your, yet to be discovered, abilities.

This course is to build on listening and speaking skills in English through class discussions. Discussions include current events, Australian culture, and learner lead topics. There may also be opportunity to practice your skills in real life situations.

Leisure courses are great to expand your interests or try something new, all the while making friends and having fun! Our roster of courses is updated every term and we respond to the needs of the community, and we welcome you to come in, send us an email or call to have a chat about what you're interested in.
